NRL in Broadmeadows

Broadmeadows MP, Frank McGuire has welcomed Melbourne Storm Rugby League’s efforts to promote the benefit of sport and healthy living to children.

Visiting Coolaroo South Primary School with Melbourne Storm captain, Cam Smith and teammate, Young Tonumaipea, Mr McGuire praised their efforts in helping children tackle the health and well being message.

Through a partnership with Melbourne Airport, which kicked off as part of the NRL Community Carnival, Melbourne Storm are visiting 44 schools across the state to talk about health living and promoting sport to young people.

“Mental wellbeing, physical health, nutrition and healthy relationships are especially important for children.  Regular physical activity not only protects against many illnesses, it also makes us mentally healthy, alert and resilient against the stresses of modern life”, Mr McGuire said.
