In a speech to Parliament on 22nd March 2011, I called on the government commit $9 million from the 2011-2012 Budget to complete the Broadmeadows School’s regeneration program.

In the lead up to the 2010 State election, Premier John Brumby committed $9 million to complete the Hume Valley School project. This project built upon the Bracks and Brumby government’s $60 million ‘light on the hill’ investment in education.

When in Opposition, the now Minister for Education, Martin Dixon had pressured the Labor government to keep its commitment, however had failed to maintain the commitment following the change of government.
