Culturally diverse communities in the Broadmeadows electorate will receive $403,000 from the Andrews Labor Government for new and existing community facilities.

The Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund supports communities in the Broadmeadows electorate to feel connected with their traditional culture as they participate in and contribute to our wider society.

Frank McGuire, State Member for Broadmeadows, announced that the Haig Cricket Club of Fawkner will receive $3,000 to assist in making the club’s change room facilities more culturally and gender friendly, whilst the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East will receive $400,000 towards a new building works for the Australian Assyrian Community Centre in Coolaroo.

“By working together with local multicultural organisations, we can build communities where everyone belongs, feels accepted and can freely participate and contribute.”

The Labor Government is promoting an inclusive society where every Victorian is able to preserve and share their culture and traditions, and have spaces that they can make their own.

These projects will increase access to safe and functional facilities that enable diverse communities in the Broadmeadows electorate to access services, participate in activities and share their cultures with the wider community.
