Eddie McGuire has declared that his brother, Frank McGuire, is off to a flying start as the new
Broadmeadows state Labor MP.

Eddie told the Leader that he thought his brother’s first two months in politics showed great signs for the future.
“One thing about my brother is he will never stop trying for the people of Broadmeadows,” he said.

Eddie said the commitment to Broadmeadows was not new, with Frank having worked in the community for about 12 years on social and innovation projects such as the Global Learning Village.

“I have no worries at all that the people of Broadmeadows are being looked after and their interests are foremost in his mind,” Eddie said.

The McGuire family grew up near Olsen Place in Broadmeadows, although both brothers now live in the southern suburbs.

Frank McGuire won the seat in a by-election in February following the resignation of former premier John Brumby after state Labor lost power late last year.

Eddie McGuire visited the Hume Global Learning Centre last week for celebrations to welcome the Turkish Government as partners of the Global Learning Village.
